This piece transports me right back to summer.
 
Cyanotypes are traditionally blue but once they have finished processing in the sun, additional steps can be taken to manipulate the color. This Hyacinth print felt like it needed a lighter treatment than the traditional blue that it started with and I love the dreamy quality that resulted. When toned back to lighten and brighten it up, I was especially delighted by the tuquoise marks that remained to contrast with the ethereal, natural yellow that developed all around the floating blossom.
